Breeze-Eastern manufactures performance-critical electro-mechanical and hydraulic lifting devices for military and civilian aircraft, including helicopter rescue hoists, cargo winches, external cargo hooks and weapons-handling systems. Breeze-Eastern supplies original equipment, aftermarket spares and overhaul and repair services. On February 17, 2006, Tinicum led a private placement of common stock in Breeze-Eastern to help the company reduce its debt burden and became the largest shareholder of the company. Tinicum personnel served on the company's board from 2006 to January 2016, when the company was sold to TransDigm Group Incorporated (NYSE: TDG).
