Headquartered in Memphis, TN, Engineered Medical Systems, LLC (“EMS”) engineers, manufactures and assembles instruments and implants used in orthopedic surgery. EMS produces the industry’s most complex designs, dynamically manufacturing a wide variety of part numbers at the highest quality standards. Tinicum invested in EMS in January 2019, in part to fund an expansion that doubled the size of the company’s manufacturing facility. The founders of EMS have remained involved in the business as either managers, equity partners or both.
In November 2023, EMS acquired Big River Engineering and Manufacturing. EMS seeks to acquire other manufacturers of engineered medical products.
